TEXTBOOKS ~ Our Parish School of Religion has purchased new textbooks, at a cost of $1000+ for the first time in ten years. The focus is on solid doctrine. The proceeds from the Bean Soup Booth at Mill Festival will help defray the costs of these textbooks.

 

YOUTH PROJECT ~ It’s bean soup time at the Algonguin Mill October 8, 9 and 10. Last year’s participation earned in excess of $3,200 to help fund youth programs and activities. Workers are always needed morning or afternoon for 4˝ hour shifts. A sign-up sheet is in the back of church and FREE parking permits will be available for those working in the booth signed up by this weekend.

 

LIFE CHAIN ~ Sunday, October 3 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Bishop Conlon plans to be present for the Life Chain. It is a unique way to go beyond just saying we are pro-life to actually standing publicly for life. The event locally is coordinated by Rev. Gordon Warner (330-627-2917) in conjunction with Carroll County Right to Life. and other pro-life individuals and pastors. Carrollton’s Life Chain will be along Canton Road from Main Street to Twelfth Street. You are invited to come on out and stand for Life. Signs may be picked up at the Wesley Community Chapel on Twelfth St at 1:30 PM. on Sunday.

 

FAMILY LIFE ~ If you’d like to help other couples in their marriage a workshop entitled “Mastering the Mysteries of Sacramental Love” will take place Sunday, October 9 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. Bernard Church, Beverly, OH. Please consider attending and call the parish office to register.

 

MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER WEEKEND ~ Married couples give yourselves the best Sweetest Day gift EVER…attend the Worldwide Marriage Encounter on Sweetest Day Weekend, October 15-17 in Steubenville. A Marriage Encounter weekend offers married couples the opportunity to get away in a quiet setting where they can enrich and strengthen their marriage. There is no group sharing. It is a totally private weekend for couples of all ages. The October 15-17 weekend is at Vianney Center of Familyland in the Steubenville area.
