DAY OF NATIONAL PENANCE ~ In observance of this National Day of Penance on January 23, the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision, Roe vs. Wade (1973), the Catholic Church in the United States invites us all to do penance.  We are reminded that “God recognized each of us before we were born, and called us by name”, so too may we recognize the value of each human life and pledge ourselves to continue to defend and nurture God’s greatest gift to us. For those who are able, the church recommends that we fast from all food except bread and water during one or more meals of the day, that we receive the Sacrament of Penance to deepen our own personal conversion, and we spend extra time in prayer entrusting to Him all mothers and their unborn children.

AED TRAINING ~ Training on the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) will be offered on Sunday, Jan. 29th 12:30 PM at Morges. Two more positions are available.

DEACON ACOLYTES ~ The installation of Acolyte is scheduled for Saturday, February 4th  at 10:00 AM.  You are invited to attend at the Holy Name Cathedral in Stuebenville. A light reception will follow.

TEEN MOVIE NIGHT ~ Calling all teens! Mark your calendars now for Sunday, February 12th for Teen Movie Night.  We will be enjoying pizza and popcorn and watching "Soul Surfer", a movie about a professional teen surfer who lost her arm to a shark attack who relied on her unwavering faith to come back to the sport. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the church hall.  All teens are invited to join us & bring a friend or two along!

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS ~ On Jan 29th there will be a first and second degree initiation in Letonia, Ohio. (Time to be announced)  This will be a good time for any new members who are in need of first initiation and for those who have made their first degree and are ready to make their second degree.

DIRECTORY UPDATE ~ It has come to our attention that Olan Mills was bought out by Lifetouch in December causing some delay in our printing, but the proof is now at the printer, and we have been promised it should be ready within five weeks.

THANK YOU ~ Thank you to the More Life Youth Group for your gift of $7,500 to the Building Fund.  It is inspiring to see the parish organizations supporting the building fund.

CONDOLENCES ~ Condolences are offered to Mary White on the loss of her mother.  Our prayers go out to Mary & Bob and their family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ~ Jan 21: Richard Clemens; Jan 22: Thelma Esker; Jan 23: Dr. Mandal Haas
