“BUILT OF LIVING STONES” We finally come to the final section! Building a Church: Practical Considerations.  This section may be of more interest to some.  It concerns hiring an architect and the more tangible aspects of building. Sun. Feb. 6th 3:00PM.

“LIFT HIGH THE CROSS” at the Bishop’s request each parish is asked to meet and respond to two questions which he posed regarding the future building of the new cathedral. Your input is vital and your comments will be forwarded to the diocese. We will meet THIS Sunday after Mass, February 6th.

OUR PRAYERS AND SYMPATHY are extended to the family of Dan Spilker, brother of Teresa Long, who passed away Friday, Jan. 28th. May he rest in peace.

NEW PICTORIAL DIRECTORY ~ Sign-ups will begin today with the portrait date, Tuesday, February 22. There will be more dates in mid-May but this opportunity in February gives participants a 20% discount. There is also an additional 10% discount for seniors, military, and college students year round.

Please participate! Every participating family that selects a pose for the directory will receive a free directory and a complimentary 8x10 portrait. The program is available at no cost to the church budget. Olan Mills.

WORKERS NEEDED for SHARING BREAD ~ Our Lady of Mercy is again committed to helping serve at this free dinner hosted by First Presbyterian Church on Monday, February 21. The volunteer schedule needs kitchen help beginning at 2:30pm; servers should arrive by 3:50pm, and clean-up crew at 5:15 pm. The list and times are in the back of church.. Generally 120+ meals are served. Please signup today if you would like to help with this ministry.

SOUPER BOWL OF CARING ~ Tackle Hunger ~ Most of us have never had to wonder where our next meal is coming from. But for more than 49 million Americans (one in six adults and one in four children) it is a very real concern. TODAY soup kettles will be at the doors of church for your donations. All donations will benefit our local “Loaves & Fishes” food pantry.

LOAVES & FISHES FOOD PANTRY DISTRIBUTION DAYS ~ Feb. 14 from 12-2 pm and Feb. 21 from 12-2 pm.; Feb 28: 2-4 pm no appointment needed and from 6:30-7:30 pm no appointment needed. Their new location is on Moody Ave in the old Villa restaurant.
