MEMORIAL DAY ~ Memorial Day weekend officially kicks-off the
summer season: picnics, vacations, relaxing, etc. Memorial Day itself
though reminds us of a more serious matter: the remembrance of
those who have died defending our land and those values which we
hold dear, as well as recalling the memory of our loved ones who have
died.
At a time of the year when we feel the fullness of life in our summer activities, it would be good to visit a cemetery and be reminded that life does not last forever – at least not here on earth, and that the fullness of life of a Christian is much more than what the world has to offer.
If you plan to visit the grave of a loved one, you are invited to use the “Prayer on Visiting the Grave of a Loved One” found in the back of church.
GRADUATING? Are you a high school senior or a college student graduating this spring? Please call the parish office with the details so that we may celebrate your success.
