BEAN SOUP BOOTH YOUTH PROJECT @ ALGONQUIN MILL FESTIVAL It’s bean soup time at the Mill the weekend of October 9-11th. Last year’s participation earned in excess of $3,200 to help fund youth programs and activities. Workers are always needed morning or afternoon for 4 1/2 hr shifts. A sign-up sheet is in the back of church and parking permits will be provided for those working in the booth.

WE’RE HAVING ADULT EDUCATION from 10:20-11:20 after the 9:00 AM Mass. We’re viewing the three paths to holiness (Becoming a Saint) by Fr. Barron in 20 minute tapes each week. He is an exceptional presenter, giving you solid Catholic suggestions on directing your life toward Christ. Coffee and donuts served. All welcome.

IMMACULATE HEART FUND~ provides scholarships for tuition assistance for Catholic education for all students in the diocese who are in need of financial support. This collection will be taken the weekend of October 3rd &4th and replaces our St Vincent de Paul Collection for October.

MEMORANDUM FROM THE DIOCESE OF STEUBENVILLE~ Questions have arisen during this period regarding the Swine flu and Mass. At this time it is the diocesan recommendation to encourage parishioners who are not feeling well to take such precautions as remaining at home if they are sick, refraining from drinking from the cup and from shaking hands at the Sign of Peace.

LIFE CHAIN ~ As part of October’s “Respect Life” month LIFE CHAIN invites the churches in each city and town across America to stand on a designated local sidewalk & pray for one hour while holding approved pro-life sign messages. You may pick up your sign up in the back of church next weekend. We will be standing by Mercy Medical from 2-3pm. Signs may be returned to church.

OUR PRAYERS AND CONDOLENCES ~ Ellen Owen’s sister passed away this week in Florida.

AWAY ON VACATION ~ Fr. Tom will be away through October 9th. In the event of an emergency you may contact Fr. Vic Cinson at 1-330-868-4498.
