ST VINCENT DEPAUL COLLECTION next weekend, December 5 & 6. The Carroll County Ministerial Association through its outreach program of the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry reaches out to needy Carroll County residents in Christian charity. Through the efforts of a dedicated group of volunteers from the various churches the Pantry distributes an average of over 4 tons of food monthly. Food is given to all who qualify on the basis of low income.
Once again we would like to be able to provide clients with a special holiday meat gift. Your donations will help make this possible. Through the generosity of our community we have been serving approximately 250 households per month, and recently have seen increases of 20% above the average. Thank you.
COMMUNAL RECONCILIIATION ~
“He went about…proclaiming a baptism of repentance which led to the forgiveness of sins…Luke. As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior, we know that there is a need to “repent” in all our lives. Jesus came to save us, not from all the frantic activities that occupy so much of our time and efforts these days before December 25, but rather from broken relationships, a lack of compassion towards the needy, barriers that we have created between ourselves and God. The good news is that God, in Jesus, can mend our brokenness and tear down our barriers.
In this time of Advent, there is no better and no more necessary way to prepare to celebrate Christ’s birth than by celebrating the forgiving and healing touch of God in our lives.
COMMUNAL PENANCE SERVICE at St. Gabriel’s, Minerva, Tuesday, December 15 at 7:00 PM. Several diocesan priests will be available for confessions.
