COLLECTION for the Church in Central & Eastern Europe ~ “Give faith to the future” ~ Great needs remain as some parishes still need a proper place to celebrate Mass; some diocese s cannot maintain necessary social and charitable works; most cannot support basic pastoral work.

Lenten regulations: Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the penitential season of Lent. Ash Wednesday, February 17, and Good Friday April 2 are days of complete abstinence from meat as well as days of fast. All other Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence from meat. The law of abstinence binds all Catholics 14 years and older. The law of fasting binds all Catholics 18 until their 59th birthday.
SHARING BREAD ~ Our Lady of Mercy is again committed to helping serve food at the “Sharing Bread” meals on Monday, Feb. 15 & 22, Presbyterian Church, 4:00 – 6:00 PM. We are in need of 6-8 people to help serve food. The list and times are in the back of church. Children can also help who are old enough to clear off tables. Generally, 120-130 meals are served.
